We are very pleased and proud to announce that AJM Dachshunds was inspected by AKC and found to be in compliance.
We breed miniatures, "tween" and small standards dachshunds . We have both longhair and smooths.
We focus on puppies, but also from time to time will offer retired adults. Stud services are available on a case by case basis to qualified breeders.
Our dogs are family.
When you purchase a puppy from AJM Dachshunds, I will issue a 2-year health guarantee against life threatening congenital disorders. Should an issue arise with your puppy within 2 years it will be replaced with a puppy of equal value when available. There are no refunds and all veterinary expenses are the responsibility of the buyer. In order to validate this warranty, the puppy must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 business hours upon taking possession of the puppy. If your veterinarian finds the puppy to be genetically imperfect or have severe health concerns, the puppy must be returned immediately to AJM Dachshunds accompanied by a certificate statement from the veterinarian stating the findings for a replacement when available.
The health guarantee does not cover the following including but not limited to: viral illnesses, parasites, infections, improper bites, giardia or coccidiosis or kennel cough. It also does not cover illnesses due to the ingestion of foreign objects, food, chemicals, stress related issues, behavioral issues, physical injuries and/or illnesses which may have occurred and/or contracted during transport to the buyer.
I make every effort to make sure that your puppy is healthy and free of parasites. Many of these things are a result of stress with going to a new home and do occur when puppy has otherwise been healthy with the breeder. Most puppies have worms and you should not be surprised if your puppy does have them. Although I worm on a regular schedule every two weeks as the vet recommends, I can't guarantee that your puppy will be free of all worms when you get it.
Puppies are not born with immunity to disease. They get their limited immunity from the first few hours of life from the mother’s colostrum. This does not last long. Once the puppies are at their cutest is when they become the most vulnerable. The immunity they received from mom is now nearly depleted. When visiting a dachshund puppy in the breeder’s home it is very important that you observe these rules prior to visiting a puppy to help keep them free from disease:
Please wear clean clothing and shoes.
Please do not visit the following places prior to your visit: Another breeder, Pet Store or any store where pets are allowed, Dog Shelters, Rescues or Humane Societies,Veterinarian or Animal Hospitals, Dog Park or places where dogs may be present, Hiking or walking trails, Hospital, Clinic or Nursing homes.
Please reschedule your visit if you or a member of your
household is ill.
Please reschedule your visit if any of your pets become ill.
Please follow ALL protocols prescribed by the breeder to insure the puppies remain healthy.
The purpose of a non-refundable deposit is to hold a particular dachshund puppy for you until the puppy is ready to go, at which time the balance in full must be paid before the puppy will be released to you. When a deposit is received it ensures that puppy will no longer be on the market and others who may be interested in that particular puppy will be informed by the breeder that puppy is not available. The non-refundable deposit will be applied to the total price of the puppy. Should you for any reason not complete the purchase of the puppy on the ready to go date or an agreed upon date, you forfeit the non-refundable deposit. In rare circumstances and on a case by case basis, the non-refundable deposit may be transferred to a different puppy at a later time, but no longer than 1 year from the date the original puppy is ready to go.
As a Breeder of Dachshund Puppies you will be assured quality care.
